PATS GET THEIR GREEN ON

The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced today the team will host “Rider Pride” Night presented by Mosaic at the Brandt Centre when the Pats face off with their rivals, the Moose Jaw Warriors, Wednesday, October 30th at 7:00 p.m.

As a part of the new partnership between the Regina Pats and Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Blue and White will don the Green and White in the form of a commemorative jersey for their upcoming contest with the Warriors.

“It’s an exciting opportunity to continue to grow our relationship with the Roughrider organization,” commented Regina Pats Senior VP and General Manager Chad Lang.  “This event is more than a partnership between two prominent franchises with rich history.  It’s about coming together as a community to show appreciation to the loyal fans and sponsors who continue to support both teams.”

Roughrider players and personnel will be at the game for a puck drop ceremony and to take in “Rider Pride” Night as the Thirteenth Man moves into the hockey world for a night.

“The Saskatchewan Roughriders are pleased to partner with the Regina Pats for Wednesday’s Rider Pride night,” stated Riders President and CEO Jim Hopson. “We look forward to being a part of and supporting one of the most exciting matchups in the WHL.”

Fans are encouraged to turn the Brandt Centre into a “Sea of Green” and show their Rider Pride in the heart of Riderville as we cheer on the Riders towards the 101st Grey Cup.

Fans of the Pats and Riders can show their support with limited edition green Reebok shirts featuring the Pats/Riders logo.  The shirts will be available at the Pats Neutral Zone Store and the Rider Store for $25 while supplies last.  Commemorative logo pins will also be available for $6 each.

Tickets for “Rider Pride” Night presented by Mosaic are available from the Brandt Centre Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.ca.  Group Tickets can be purchased through the Pats Office by calling 306-337-1538.

Nothing against the "Regina" Pats, but isn't the "Saskatchewan" Roughriders franchise supported by fans of this Province ? Do the other Sk based WHL teams also have exclusive agreement with the Riders, if not, why not ? Regina Roughriders ????

Do the other Sk based WHL teams also have exclusive agreement with the Riders, if not, why not ?

Good question, why didn’t the other junior teams approach the Riders to pursue a similar agreement?

Jealous?

If they're the Saskatchewan Roughriders then why don't they just play home games in every city, too? Gotta be everything to everyone, eh? (sarcasm)

If the home of the Saskatchewan Roughriders was Saskatoon, or PA, or Moose Jaw, or Swift Current I'm sure they would've done the same thing with that city.

If the Grey Cup was being played in Saskatoon, or PA, or Moose Jaw, or Swift Current I'm sure they would've done the same thing with that city.

Regina is the home of the Roughriders, Regina is the home of the Pats hence a working relationship.

Actually, the Broncos beat the Pats to the punch on this. Swift had Rider themed jerseys three years ago and had Hawkins and Getzlaf in town for the game.

Cutting edge in Regina, old news in Swift Current.

That's the best logo they could come up with? Why not be creative and incorporate the Pats "S" into the Riders "S".

Regardless good for the Riders trying to help out the Pats get people back into following the team.

The Roughriders go out of their way to kiss the asses of the insecure townie fans that don't come from Regina. Such as all of the non-night games we have to put up with because we need to appease the 15% or so of the crowd that comes from out of town. Here's a newsflash to all the pathetic losers that bitch every time the Riders do something that's Regina-centric for a change: THE ROUGHRIDERS MAKE THEIR HOME IN REGINA AND ALL TEAMS ALWAYS HAVE A SPECIAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THEIR HOME CITY EVEN IF THE NAME IS A REGIONAL NAME.… Read more »

Why would anyone want to have pride of a greedy entity like the Riders, always begging for your last dollar? It's getting really old and pathetic the way this supposed professional football franchise has their hands out all the time. Are they even going to be viable for the duration of a 30+ year loan, that's the question.

And if you people need proof of where the majority of Roughrider support comes from, just check where the
Rams 50/50 winners from the last few years reside…..the
majority live in or near Regina.
It's a nobrainer that the Riders
would team up with the Pats.

Green is the colour and Hockey
is now the game in Regina!

ever think that maybe game times are dictated by TSN. Who in their right mind would have a game start at 5 PM on any night at any time in the season if they had a choice?

Merely another pathetic lime light grab by J Hopson and the Rider organization with that tired old 13th man mantra. 13th man, give it up, give it a rest, everyone knows it cost the Riders a shameful CFL Championship.

As part of the new partnership between the Regina Pats and the Saskatchewan Roughriders, will the Roughriders vise versa don a Red, White and blue commemortive jersey honouring the historic Regina Patricia's Light Infantry Regiment?

That's a Great idea for the Riders……a PPCLI/Pats patch on their jerseys. Would be great way to show their support for our Armed Forces! And also show the country that the Pats are on their way back to the promised land.
