PATS MAKE ROSTER MOVES
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club announced multiple roster moves on Thursday. The team recalled forward Riley Woods (’98) from the Regina Pat Canadians and goaltender Kurtis Chapman (’98) from the Olds Grizzlys. The team also reassigned forward Jake Elmer (’98) to the Grande Prairie Storm.
Riley Woods started the season with the Pats, picking up four points (2G, 2A) in eleven games before rejoining the Pat C’s. The Regina native posted 21 points (9G, 12A) in just ten games with the Pat C’s to sit fifth on the team in scoring. At the recent Mac’s Midget Tournament in Calgary, Woods tallied 15 points (7G, 8A) in five games. For that effort, he was named the tournament’s MVP. He was also acknowledged as the Most Sportsmanlike Player and a First Team All-Star.
Kurtis Chapman has appeared in 29 games with the Olds Grizzlys in his first season of Junior-A. The Airdrie, AB product holds a record of 11-15-2 supported by a 4.11 GAA and 0.895 SV%. Chapman will participate in the CJHL Prospects Game in Surrey, B.C. on January 26. Chapman has been recalled due to an injury to Tyler Brown who is officially listed as ‘day-to-day’.
Jake Elmer joins the Grande Prairie Storm in the AJHL. The rookie forward played in 17 games with the Pats this season. Elmer was the Pats’ sixth round pick, 116th overall, in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
The Pats return to game action Friday night on the road against the Kootenay Ice in an 8 p.m. CST puck drop. Listen to the game live with Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey on 620 CKRM starting at 7:35 p.m. CST.
Great to see Riley back with the Team and certainly deserves the opportunity after playing so well since moved to the Pat C's.
Wonder if Elmer in the doghouse with Mgmt? or maybe it's an injury situation and a chance to give him more ice time…hopefully the latter as thought he didn't look out of place when he did get on the game roster.
Anyone know how long Brian Williams (new 20 year old) will be out with injury?
Riley too small
