PATS' STEEL AND MAHURA INVITED TO WJ CAMP
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Captain Sam Steel and defenceman Josh Mahura have been invited to Hockey Canada Selection Camp for the 2018 World Junior Hockey Championships.
Steel, a signed first round pick of the Anaheim Ducks in 2016, will be attending his second World Junior selection camp. The Sherwood Park, Alberta product was among the final cuts ahead of the 2017 tournament.
Steel is the reigning WHL Player of the year and led the entire Canadian Hockey League with 131 points last season. In 24 games this year, Steel has scored 12 goals and has 30 points.
Mahura, also a draft pick of the Ducks in the third round of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft, will be attending his first selection camp. The product of St. Albert, Alberta has scored eight goals and has 23 points in 24 games so far this season.
Last year, Mahura put up 53 points in 73 games and was signed by the Ducks. He went on to put up eight goals and 21 points in 23 playoff games in 2017.
Both Steel and Mahura will leave for selection camp on December 11.
