The Regina Pats will face the Swift Current Broncos in Round 2 of the WHL Playoffs.

The Broncos punched their ticket to the Eastern Conference Semifinals Monday night with a 3-2 Game 7 victory over the Warriors in Moose Jaw. The Broncos built up a 3-1 lead in the third period and held on for a victory in the deciding game despite being outshot 41-30 at Mosaic Place.

The Pats have been off since completing a first round sweep of the Calgary Hitmen last Thursday, and they carry a 12-game win streak into the series.

The series schedule has already been announced with Games 1 and 2 to be played in Regina’s Brandt Centre on Thursday and Friday of this week. Games 3 and 4 are in Swift Current on April 10 and 11 before returning for Game 5 (if necessary) on Friday, April 14. Game 6 is scheduled for April 15 at the Innovation Credit Union I-Plex and a possible Game 7 is slated for April 17 in Regina.

The Pats were 7-0-1 in the season series against the Broncos.

The last time the two teams met in the playoffs was in 2015 when the Pats swept a first round series.

All games will be broadcast on 620 CKRM.
