PATS TO HOST DALE DERKATCH BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT

The Regina Pats Hockey Club is pleased to announce one of its all-time greats, Dale Derkatch, will be honoured with his own bobblehead.  The organization’s traditional bobblehead night game, presented by Knight Archer Insurance, will be this Saturday when the Pats’ host the Prince Albert Raiders at the Brandt Centre,

A limited number of Dale Derkatch Bobbleheads, approximately 1000, will be available for fans attending the game.  A minimum $5 donation to Brighter Futures for Children, a fundraiser that supports the SCEP Centre and Regina Early Learning Centre is appreciated in order to get a bobblehead.

Dale Derkatch played for the Regina Pats from 1981 – 1985.  Over the course of his four years with the Blue and White, the Winnipeg, Manitoba product played in a total of 204 regular season games. In that time, he accumulated an astounding 491 points including 222 goals and 269 assists.  Derkatch appeared in 54 playoff games tallying 103 points including 46 goals and 73 assists.

Dale is currently the franchise leader in career goals, assists and points.  He also holds several WHL records including, being tied for most assists by a rookie in one season at 80, a league record three consecutive 60-goal seasons, most assists and points in a single playoff, seventh all-time in WHL career points and the all-time league leader in career playoff assists and points.

After his time in Regina, Derkatch spent thirteen years in professional hockey.  He is currently the co-owner of Peak Performance Hockey in Regina and an amateur scout for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Other Regina Pats immortalized as a bobblehead include Josh Harding, Jordan Eberle, Rick Rypien, Clark Gillies, Ed Staniowski and K9.

The bobblehead's probably life size. I'll have to make a point of attending this Saturday to honour my old racquetball partner.

Too bad the bobbleheads didn't actually look like the player.
