COORS LIGHT RECAP: PATS TOP WHEAT KINGS 5-4

REGINA – Matt Bradley’s even strength goal at 13:21 of the third period was the winner as the Regina Pats downed the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 in a rare Thursday game in the Brandt Centre.

With the win, the Pats snapped a 5-game losing skid.

In a back-and-forth game, the Wheat Kings led 1-0 after 20 minutes and upped their lead to 2-0 early in the second. However Regina erupted for four goals in the middle period – from Logan Nijhoff, Cale Fleury, Bryan Lockner and Nick Henry – to hold a 4-3 lead after two periods.

Brandon’s Stelio Mattheos tied the game up at 4-4 midway through the third however Bradley struck for his team-leading 23rd goal of the season and it held up as the game-winner.

Regina was outshot 35-27 while going 2/8 on the powerplay and 3/3 killing penalties.

Tyler Brown made 24 saves to collect the victory in the Pats goal.

The attendance was 6238.

Regina (17-18-3) is next in action on Saturday when they visit the P.A. Raiders at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM. The Pats’ next home game is January 1 against the Raiders in a 7:00 start.
