PATS TRIPPED UP IN MOOSE JAW, HEAD TO HOLIDAY BREAK

Moose Jaw, Sask. — The Regina Pats were inconsistent on Saturday in Moose Jaw, falling 5-3 to the Warriors to close out their first-half schedule.

The Pats started strong, but found themselves down 1-0 after 20 minutes, and then allowed three consecutive goals in the second. Logan Nijhoff gave the Pats some life with a late second period tally that cut the deficit to 4-1, but Jagger Firkus’ power play marker halfway through the third ensured there was no comeback to be had, as that goal made it a 5-2 game.

Tanner Howe found the scoresheet again in the loss, as did Parker Berge, notching his first goal of the season.

The Warriors got goals from five different players for the second consecutive night, thanks to even-strength tallies from Thomas Tien, Nathan Pilling and Robert Baco, plus power play goals from Brayden Yager and Jagger Firkus.

The Pats now begin a nine-day holiday break. They return to action at home on Monday, December 27 against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
