PICTON, BRESCIANI SHINE IN INAUGURAL ALL STAR/CELEBRITY FOOTBALL GAME
Former Rams and Argos QB Noah Picton fired four touchdown passes – including one to CFL great Jason Clermont – as Team White downed Team Green 30-28 in the inaugural Rod Pedersen’s All Star/Celebrity Football Game at Leibel Field in Regina Saturday evening.
The clash featured a bevy of CFL and U-Sports alumni along with several media personalities as a fundraiser for Regina Minor Football and the Regina Riot Womens Tackle Football Club.
However the game MVP was Team Green’s Rob Bresciani – a star on the 1989 Grey Cup champion Riders and current President of the Roughrider Alumni – who threw a TD pass to Landon Buch, rushed for a score, and also picked off Noah Picton to set up a thrilling finish.
Jordan Sisco, Frankie Gray (2), and Neal Hughes also caught TD receptions.
The celebrity coaches were former Riders Jim Hopson and Scott McHenry. Amazing Race Canada star Lauren Lavoie was a star as well, catching five passes from Picton.
