PLAYOFFS: RED SOX DOWN 2-0, HOME WEDNESDAY

On Tuesday night the Yorkton Cardinals used a strong pitching performance from starter Justin Johnson to defeated the Regina Red Sox 6-1 at Jubilee Park.   Johnson threw a complete game, allowing just six hits and one Red Sox run. He also had four strikeouts.

Andrew Mirasty started for Regina and went 4.2 innings. He was tagged for nine hits and six runs before handing the ball to Red Sox relievers Seth Sorensen and Landon Russo.

Dylan Borman had a huge night at the plate for the Cardinals. He went three for four with three RBI.

Outfielder Brian Celsi had a hit, sacrifice fly and an RBI for the Red Sox.

The victory gives Yorkton a commanding 2-0 lead in the best of five WMBL playoff series. Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday night in Regina.
 
Game 4, if needed, will be played Thursday night at Currie Field. The first pitch for both games is set for 7:05 pm.
