PRESEASON: TIGERS 5 PATS 2

Regina, Saskatchewan –The Regina Pats fell to 2-2-0-0 in the pre-season with a 5-2 loss to the Medicine Hat Tigers on Friday night, in Wainwright, Alberta.

The Tigers used a strong opening period to take a 2-0 lead. Dylan MacPherson scored early and then Ryan Jevne stole a pass in the slot with 2:05 left in the frame for the 2-0 goal.

The Pats responded early in the second when Austin Wagner stole a puck in the neutral zone and used his speed to get away and then ripped a shot into the top of the net to make it a 2-1 game. Medicine Hat restored their two goal advantage at 10:15 when Mason Shaw finished off a 3 on 2 rush at 10:15 and it was 3-1. John Dahlstrom then tipped one home on a point shot to make it 4-1.  On a late, powerplay Matt Bradley scored and it was 5-1 Tigers after 40.

In the third the Pats struck shorthanded when Sam Steel set up Nick Henry on a nice play and it was 5-2. That was all the scoring for the contest and the Pats fell to 2-2-0-0 in the pre-season.

The Pats are right back at it against the Medicine Hat Tigers on Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. Puck drop is at 7 p.m. with tickets available at the door for $8 each plus service fees.

Hollett I believe.

Yes Hollett. Struggled all night. Lighting wasn't great and he had trouble with that it looked like. Zero rebound control and did nothing clean. Ahl needs to improve his skating or he will have trouble contributing.
