A tough loss tonight. Boys looked a little tired tonight after a lot of travel & hockey in the last week. I am sure they will get back on track with a couple of big wins this weekend…albeit minus Steel and Wagner. The younger group gets a huge opportunity to strut their stuff for the next few games. Should be fun!
Sure quiet on here when the Memorial Cup Champions lose. Where is Doppler and Company when they lose ?
Come on Rod…do you really think that Brown is the answer between the pipes? His numbers are atrocious. When they hit the stronger teams later in the schedule and in playoffs they are in trouble with him. I guarantee you will see an upgrade at the deadline. Ryan Kubic from the Giants or Peyton Lee from Kootenay would look good in Pats jerseys.
It's a Team game and no way can you lay the blame on Brown for last nights loss. 1st 2 goals completely screeened on the play (Defenseman lax); 3rd goal on a deflection – no chance…other than 1st period we outplayed Hurricanes by a wide margin (SOG not necessarily indicative) and Hurricanes were lucky to get to OT, where 3-on-3 is anyones game. Brown has won games single handedly in the last couple of weeks (if you have watched them and I watch them all). Are the Pats sometimes lacking defensively? Yes, but their explosive offense and consistent forechecking pressure… Read more »
As I said…that is fine against weak teams…but you need those tough saves against good teams. That's the difference between good goalies and mediocre…they find a way to make saves they shouldn't(fight through screens).
Memorial Cup Champs were robbed on that OT Lethbridge goal. Oh well, 20-2-5
I miss old Phil The Thrill's Wednesday column on this blog. An ideal replacement would seem to be the #1 Pats fan Mr. William Weppler. It may be worth considering bringing him on board to do a weekly Pat's/WHL column – to "Phil" the gap. Maybe call it the Weppler Fan File…
I also miss Phil the Thrill
I enjoy Mr. Weppler's game analysis. He echoes exactly what I'm thinking in terms of the team! Looking forward to the game tonight.
I miss the Wednesday column with the Pats coverage.
GO PATS!

Mr. Weppler would provide intelligent commentary on the Pats. He appears to understand the game and is able to communicate effectively. He also avoids blaming the goalie when there is a loss, a go to for critics with limited hockey knowledge.
Keep posting Mr. Weppler.
I would have to agree with posters calling for a weekly weppler commentary on this blog. His cmoments are refreshing and fairly objective leaving allot of post game emotion out of it which is nice compared to some of the posts (yes sometimes including mine) on here. What do ya say Roddy?
