REGINA — The Regina Pats won their third game in a row Tuesday, scoring three third period goals on the way to a 4-2 triumph over the Medicine Hat Tigers.  With the win, the Pats concluded their four-game homestand at 3-1-0.

Before a crowd of 3361 in the Brandt Centre, Pats phenom Sam Steel put the homeside up 1-0 with a shorthanded goal 12 minutes into the opening period.  The lead held up into the second.

The Tigers’ Max Gerlach tied the game late in the second period and it was 1-1 after 40 minutes.  However Regina broke loose with three in the third frame, from Jake Leschyshyn, Austin Wagner and Adam Brooks (empty net).

Tyler Brown made 35 saves to collect the win in the Regina goal while Medicine Hat’s Mack Shields made 25 saves in a losing cause.

The Tigers outshot the Pats 37-29 as Regina went 0/6 on the powerplay and 3/3 killing penalties.  The game even featured a pair of spirited fights and the Tigers’ Alex Mowbray was assessed a 5-minute major for charging midway through the third period however the Pats failed to capitalize.

Regina (10-8-1) now plays nine straight on the road beginning Friday night in Brandon (7:30 pm on 620 CKRM).

The Pat's are playing an exciting brand of hockey. Why are you so called hockey fans not going to the games? And if you have tickets and your not going to use them donate them, Big Brothers and other charities could use them, get some butts in all those empty seats.
Come on Regina!

Agree! Anyone not using thier tickets should contact the Pats office…I know the 3 season ticket holders beside me were not there and the seats at empty…too bad as it would have given some new fans an opportunity to see the Pats in action. The boys are playing well and the upcoming road trip will be a great time to have them spend a lot of time together and hopefully mold into an even better Team.

Good hockey Pats!!
