Kole Lind’s even-strength goal at 3:25 of overtime was the winner as the hometown Rockets downed the Regina Pats 3-2 before 5.521 fans at Prospera Place on Saturday night.

The extra-point loss capped the Regina Pats’ 6-game west coast road trip at 3-2-1 and they return home in first place in the WHL’s East Division.

The game was scoreless after the first period, tied 1-1 after 40 minutes and 2-2 at the end of regulation time.

Was great to see this team live. Absolutely despise the every second year to the west schedule. Brown may have been better tonight than in Kamloops. He made 6 or 8 game savers in the second period.

Losing three times in BC is hardly the stuff of legends. Overall the team did not play well in BC and will probably drop a couple more spots in the CHL rankings. Roughing up poor teams out here didn't prepare them for what they faced in the BC Division which may be the best in the League. Brown salvaged them some points in Kamloops and Kelowna, but the team was still far from elite or even effective. They really need to evaluate what they have, how they play, and how they plan to win the tough defensive games. They really… Read more »

Good road trip guys! Could see the fatigue set in last night, and if not for a lucky bounce for Rockets in OT would have been 4 – 2 on the trip. Going 3-2-1-0 is not too shabby at all, with 3 goals against and 3 points in last 2 games – not bad for 2 tough defensive games I'd say.T Brown played very well again, but looks like the injury bug is starting to rear it's ugly head. Hollett, Steel, and Ahl(?).The week off will be good for sure.Still only 2 regulation losses and they have been thru what… Read more »

"a very bad week." Ha Ha Ha Ha!

3-2-1 on a 14 day road trip. It's the WHL! Known to be a pretty good league. PG is the #1 rated team in country. Victoria is good too. Then drop the final game of the loop in OT.

They may not have shot out the lights but they pick up seven of 12 points on the road. What other team will go out west and do better?

Worst part of the Pats schedule is behind them. Now they can get home keep rolling.

I've only seen one game this season but follow closely. In that game the pats were completely outplayed but won after getting two short handed goals from Wagner. My sense is that the pats are winning with great "plays" rather than great play. Could be out to lunch on that. I think that's why paddock and company don't go overboard on the praise. Seems they understand they have great players but have a ways to go to be great team. No surprise there as that's generally the way it goes. The oilers won for years with great plays over great… Read more »

The Pats have beat upon poor and mediocre teams. They went out west and did little considering they were the #1 team in the nation???? Beaten in Victoria, Kelowna and PG, scored on goal in Kamloops and won. Scored two in Kelowna which has a −5 goals for and against, so a mediocre team. they lost there too. For a nationally rated team to go 3-2-1-0 is hardly impressive. Outside of the Vancouver game they scored about 2 goals a game the rest of the way. Anyone who thinks that's good or elite better get their heads out of their… Read more »
