PROSPECTS 4 RED SOX 1

The Edmonton Prospects scored 4 unearned runs to grab an early lead and cruise to a 4-1 victory over the Regina Red Sox at Currie Field.

The loss dropped the Red Sox back to .500 with a 10-10 record. Edmonton improved to 9-9.

Over 700 fans watched as starter Tommy Lay threw 8 solid innings for the Sox scattering 9 hits and striking out 4 Edmonton batters.  Tyler Vavra and Brandon Radmacher closed out the game for the Red Sox.

Regina was also tagged with 4 errors that resulted in all 4 Prospect runs.

Regina managed 8 hits off Prospect pitching and scored their only run in the bottom of the 8th inning when Brandon Vaughn doubled in Gabe Snyder.

The same two teams will be back on the diamond Friday night at Currie Field. The first pitch is set for 7:05 pm.
