QUAKERS SWEEP CAPITALS
For the third consecutive year the Saskatoon AGI Insurance Quakers are PJHL Champions.
The Quakers defeated the Extreme Hockey Regina Capitals 6-1 Thursday at Regina’s Cooperators Arena to sweep the 2015-16 league final.
Saskatoon was led by Terrin Belosowsky, who had a pair of goals and an assist in the victory. Quakers goalie Brett Lewchuk turned away 17 Capital shots while Regina’s Thomas Spence faced 50 shots in the loss.
The Capitals will now prepare to host the Keystone Cup, which will be played in Regina from April 14 – 17 at the Co-operators Centre.
The Keystone Cup is the Western Canada Junior B hockey championship. League champions from BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and North Western Ontario will join the Capitals and Quakers in the tournament.
