RAIDERS 2 PATS 1 OT
Regina, SK – A 38-save performance by goaltender Ian Scott pushed the game into overtime where Jesse Lees scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 decision for the Prince Albert Raiders versus the Regina Pats Sunday at the Brandt Centre. It was the Pats’ largest crowd of the year at 5,519. A scoreless game through 50 minutes, Scott put on a goaltending clinic. When the Raiders pulled ahead in the third period, the rookie netminder was tested even harder by the Pats’ forwards and came up huge on a number of occasions. Regina managed to even the score with 1:04 left in regulation, but Lees secured the win when he took a cross-ice feed from Vojtech Budik to end it. Connor Hobbs recorded the lone goal for the Pats. Assists on the play went to Adam Brooks and Sam Steel. Scott finished the game with 38 saves on 39 attempts, while Pats’ overage goaltender Daniel Wapple turned away 27 of 29 shots. The Pats outshot the Raiders 39-29. Prince Albert went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Regina was 0-for-6. The win extends the Raiders streak to six games and improves their record to 10-2-0-1. The Pats slip to 6-5-1-0. After the game, the Raiders announced that the club has recalled goaltender Curtis Meger from the Regina Pat Canadians of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League. Scott will join Hockey Canada next week for the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in Dawson Creek and Fort St. John, British Columbia.
The Pats host Moose Jaw Friday at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.

Impressed by Pats play tonight. Controlled play and deserved to win against a top 10 team in Canada! PA goalie was sick and deserved all 3 stars. Pats are a very good young team and are beginning to click. Let's punish Moose Jaw on Friday. Go Pats Go!
A great game for sure. If PP could have clicked would have been over 10 minutes into the game. Cooper and the new guy Richards looked good. Pats took it to them all night. Was nice to see a very good sized attendance today as well. Will be a good back to back with Warriors this weekend.
Pats dominated but ran into an unbelievably hot goalie. Scott is going to be a star in this league. Five or six absolute highlight reel saves. Pats deserved a better outcome.
Agreed the PP could have made a difference in the game. The Pats special teams rate at the bottom in some areas and near the bottom in others. Their 16 year old goalie was very good but got some help from goal posts and bouncing pucks. It was a singular game and it remains to be seen if they could play that way over against a good team over a series of games. Not including Williams, the Pats need to upgrade a defence man and also one more older forward if they hope to compete every night, especially against the… Read more »
