Prince Albert, SK – Dalton Yorke scored the game-winning goal for the Prince Albert Raiders as they defeated the Regina Pats 3-2 on Dave Manson Night at the Art Hauser Centre on Friday night.

Before Friday’s game the Raiders raised Dave Manson’s number “4” banner to the rafters as part of a 30-minute pre-game ceremony that included speeches from distinguished guests, video tributes from around the hockey world, and a speech from Manson himself. WHL commissioner Ron Robison presented Manson with the WHL Alumni Achievement Award, while the Raiders gave him a silver hockey stick to commemorate his over 1000 games in the National Hockey League.

Reid Gardiner (1g-1a) and Yorke (1g-1a) led the Raiders with two points in the game. Carson Miller, who was playing in his second WHL game, netted his second career goal.

Regina received goals on the night from Austin Wagner and Connor Hobbs.

Rylan Parenteau kicked out 24 saves on 26 shots for the Raiders.

Rookie netminder Jordan Hollett got the start for the Pats and made nine saves on 12 shots. He was replaced by Tyler Brown in the second period, who went perfect the rest of the way with 13 saves.

The Pats outshot the Raiders 26-25. Prince Albert went 1-for-3 on the power play, while Regina was 1-for-4.

The Raiders improve on the year to 31-18-5-1, while the Pats slip to 23-23-3-4.

The Pats are home to the Brandon Wheat Kings Saturday at 7:00 pm on 620 CKRM.

Its all part of getting the paper very early in the morning. When I was young I delivered the LP after school in the afternoon. One would think that that would be a better way to do things with a local paper. The print deadline is too tight for an am edition.

I hope we can get some consistency in our goaltending as it seems to be a problem. Getting more than two good starts in a row is tough these days. You can't blame the goaltending altogether because when you only score twice in a game it's hard to win. It's time for the team to start tuning up for post season. If they don't it will be a very short one.

I guess some people rely on the Leader Post for information. Hunt was named PA Raiders GM last June.
