DeMarco Murray ran for a season-high 179 yards and a touchdown and Tony Romo threw for three scores as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Chicago Bears 41-28. Dallas clinched its first winning season since 2009 and moved into a tie for wins atop the NFC East with Philadelphia at 9-4. The Eagles are 9-3.

Sean Monahan scored 1:47 into overtime as the Calgary Flames came from behind more than once to defeat the Colorado Avalanche 4-3. Calgary was less than two minutes from defeat before Dennis Wideman’s second goal of the night at 18:47 of the third period forced extra time.

Brad Richardson scored two goals and added an assist, and Eddie Lack posted his fifth career shutout to lift the Vancouver Canucks to another road win, 3-nothing over the short-handed Pittsburgh Penguins. In the midst of a season-high, seven-game road trip the Canucks won their league-best 11th road game.

The Toronto Maple Leafs had their five-game point streak snapped after falling to the New Jersey Devils 5-3. And Jaroslav Halak made 20 saves to set a franchise record for consecutive wins as the New York Islanders defeated the Ottawa Senators 2-1. Halak won his 11 straight game to surpass Billy Smith’s 1982 record.

The Golden State Warriors are showing no sign of easing up. Klay Thompson scored a team-high 23 points as the Warriors toppled the New Orleans Pelicans 112-85 for their 11th win in a row. Golden State has the best record in the NBA at 16-and-2, one win better than the Memphis Grizzlies.

Daisuke Matsuzaka has signed a contract with the Softbank Hawks of Japan’s Pacific League after eight years in Major League Baseball. The 34-year-old went 3-and-3 with 78 strikeouts and a 3.89 ERA for the New York Mets in 2014. He led the Pacific League in wins three times with the Seibu Lions before signing a six-year, $52 million contract with the Boston Red Sox in 2006.
