REALTY ONE TUESDAY EYE-OPENER

The New England Patriots will have an uphill battle defending their Super Bowl title next season. Super Bowl MVP Tom Brady was suspended for the first four games of the season by the NFL for his role in deflating footballs used in the AFC title game against Indianapolis. The NFL also fined the Patriots $1 million, took New England’s next year’s first-round pick and a fourth-rounder in 2017.

The Brandon Wheat Kings face elimination for the first time in the WHL Playoffs.  Kelowna scored a 5-3 home win on Monday over the Wheat Kings to assume a 3-0 lead in the WHL final.

If the Tampa Bay Lightning are going to win their series against the Montreal Canadiens, they’ll have to do it without Ryan Callahan. He’s out indefinitely after having an emergency appendectomy tonight. Tampa leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 with Game 6 Tuesday in Tampa.

Stephen Curry scored 21 of his 33 points while the Golden State Warriors built a 61-44 halftime lead in a convincing 101-84 triumph over the Grizzlies in Memphis. The league MVP shot 11-for-22 from the field, including 4-for-9 from beyond the arc, to help the Warriors even the Western Conference semifinal series at two games apiece. Earlier, Jeff Teague scored 26 points and the Atlanta Hawks evened their Eastern Conference semifinal series at two games apiece.

Ezequiel Carrera had two doubles and two RBIs for the Blue Jays in Toronto’s 5-2 loss to the Baltimore Orioles. Manny Machado and Chris Davis hit first-inning homers for Baltimore. Because of rioting and violence in the city, the Orioles last played in front of their home fans on April 26.

Scott Van Slyke hit a three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Los Angeles Dodgers a 5-3 victory over the Miami Marlins.

Pablo Sandoval homered leading off the 11th inning in his return to the Bay Area and the Boston Red Sox beat the Oakland Athletics 5-4. Sandoval won three World Series with the San Francisco Giants.

Good to see that the Wheat Kings are back down to earth. They always choke and it's a great thing to see. Too much arrogance over in Brandon.
