There will be a Game 7 in the NHL’s Eastern Conference final. Derick Brassard scored three times as the New York Rangers kept their season alive with a 7-3 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 – evening the series at three games apiece. The deciding game will go Friday night at Madison Square Garden.

The Oshawa Generals have secured a berth in the Memorial Cup final. The Ontario Hockey League champion Generals edged the Western Hockey League’s Kelowna Rockets 2-1 to wrap up round-robin action with a perfect 3-0 record. Cole Cassels and Tobias Lindberg scored for Oshawa. The Rockets are 1-and-2.

LeBron James is heading to his fifth straight NBA final. James scored 23 points as the Cleveland Cavaliers swept the Eastern Conference final with a 118-88 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Canadian Tristan Thompson added 16 points and 11 rebound for the Cavs, who fill face either Houston or Golden State for the NBA championship.

Josh Donaldson hit a three-run walkoff homer off Chicago closer David Robertson to give Toronto a 10-9 victory over the White Sox. It was his second home run of the game and it gave the Blue Jays their third straight victory.

Embattled general manager Ruben Amaro Junior apologized to Philadelphia Phillies fans for saying they “don’t understand the game” and the “process” that goes into constructing a team. Speaking before the Phillies lost 5-4 to the New York Mets in 10 innings at Citi Field, Amaro acknowledged his comments “caused a bit of a firestorm” in Philadelphia.

The New York Times is reporting that Swiss authorities are arresting several top officials from FIFA, soccer’s world governing body, and will extradite them to the United States on federal corruption charges. The charges allege widespread corruption in FIFA over the past two decades.
