In what could be a Saskatchewan Division playoff preview, 792 baseball fans watched the Regina Red Sox beat the Yorkton Cardinals 3-2 in 11 innings Thursday at Currie Field.

Tanner Stokey, the senior from Arizona Christian University scored the winning run on an error by the Yorkton catcher in the bottom of the 11th inning.  Mike Thill was credited with the win after pitching three solid innings in relief. Thill held Yorkton to one hit and struck out four Card batters.

With the victory, Regina clinches second place in the division and now sports an overall record of 22-24.

Jordan Schulz was an offensive threat for Regina. Schulz was three for five at the plate while scoring two runs. Centre fielder Zach Weatherford continued his superior play as he smacked four hits in the game.

Jesse Pratt had his best outing as a Red Sox starter, throwing seven complete innings giving up just three hits, two walks while striking out three.

The Red Sox are back on the diamond Friday night in Yorkton. It will be a 7:05 start at Jubilee Park. Regina will round out the regular season on Saturday night at home in a make up game against Swift Current.
