RED SOX 3 MILLER EXPRESS 2

The Regina Red Sox picked up their first road win of the season defeating the Moose Jaw Milers 3-2  Friday night at Ross Wells Park. Attendance was close to 300 fans.

Red Sox starter Michael Garcia got credit for the win. He pitched seven strong innings striking out seven while scattering seven hits. Sam Brunner picked up his second save of the season, holding Moose Jay hitters at bay in 1.1 innings of relief.

Offensively Jake Howard, a junior from Arizona Christian, smashed his first homer of the season. He finished the night 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and a walk.

Ryan Lambrecht continues to swing a hot bat with a .615 batting average. He was 2 for 4 at the plate against Miller pitching.

Kyle Sonntag took the loss for Moose Jaw after throwing 6 innings.  

The Red Sox bring their 2-1 record home for a Sunday afternoon clash against the Weyburn Beavers. First pitch is set for 2 pm.
