Strasbourg native Jordan Schulz contributed a run, three hits and three RBI, as the Regina Red Sox (4-2) defeated the Moose Jaw Miller Express (1-8) 6-3 Friday night at Ross Wells Park.
Travis Ouellet was solid at the plate for the Miller Express. Ouellet went 3-4 and drove in one run.
Michael Garcia made his second start of the season for the Red Sox going 5.2 innings before giving way to Landon Russo.
Russo, a sophomore from Scottsdale Community College, picked up his first win of the season mowing down the five Moose jaw batters he faced. Sam Brunner came on in the final inning to earn his third save of the 2016 WMBL campaign.
Moose Jaw’s Kyle Sonntag was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted seven innings, walked four, struck out five, and allowed four runs.
Regina will host the Lethbridge Bulls on Saturday and Sunday at Currie Field. Game time for both contests is 2pm.
