RED SOX 7 CARDS 1

The Regina Red Sox extended their winning streak to three games with a 7-1 victory over the Yorkton Cardinals Friday night.

Regina broke the game open with four runs in the fourth inning and finished with seven runs on 10 hits while Yorkton had a run on four hits.

Red Sox starter Parks Smithey was brilliant on the mound. He shutout the Cards, giving up only three hits and three walks while striking out three over seven innings of solid work.

It was a total team effort on offence as 11 of the 12 Red Sox hitters reached base during the game. Local product, Jordan Schulz was one of the team hitting stars going one for three with a walk and two runs scored.

Regina now 23-24, will round out the regular season Saturday night at Currie Field against Swift Current.
