RED SOX DOWN MILS 4-3
Nolan Ard’s late inning hitting heroics pushed the Regina Red Sox past Melville 4-3 Friday night.
Ard’s single in the ninth inning scored both Griffin Keller and Phil Langlois and helped the Red Sox move to 2-0 on the season.
Newcomer Broderick Rodocker added three hits, a walk and an RBI for the Red Sox.
Preston Minor picked up the Regina win, while Seth Sorenson pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
Anthony Ramirez had a hot bat for Melville contributing two hits and a RBI for the Millionaires. Eric Sandoz took the Melville loss.
The Red Sox road trip continues Saturday with a visit to Moose Jaw.

Brooks Bombers 1 at Edmonton Prospects 10
Prospect pitching ace Noah Gapp had a complete game four-hitter in Edmonton’s 10-1 win over Brooks. Gapp struck out 14 of the 31 batters he faced.
Marion McLean had three hits and three RBI while Derek Shedden scored three runs for the Prospects.
For Brooks one of the few highlights of the night was that three of their four hits were doubles.
Fort McMurray Giants 10 at Lethbridge Bulls 11
It was a slugfest at Spitz Stadium as the Giants and Bulls combined for 30 hits.
Third baseman Keegan Marsden led the Fort McMurray Giants offence with three hits and a run. Brett Brittany also had three hits and two walks for Lethbridge.
Fort McMurray thought they had a build comfortable 9-6 lead with seven runs in the top of the seventh inning. Lethbridge countered with five runs in the bottom of the eighth for the win.
Lethbridge pitcher Dawson Moser threw 1.2 innings in relief for the win. Ryan Moroz took the loss for the Giants.
Medicine Hat Mavericks 6 at Okotoks Dawgs 7
Peter Hutzel made a triumphant return to the diamond with three hits and three runs in Okotoks 7-6 win over Medicine Hat.
It was a wild ninth inning as the Mavericks scored two runs to grab a 6-5 lead. Medicine Hat’s lead was short lived as Dawgs second baseman Greg Cullen smacked a double that scored Hutzel and Eddie Sanchez for the Okotoks win.
Tyler Burdett got credit for the Dawgs win while the Mavericks Barry Caine, from Surrey BC, was hit with the loss.
Weyburn Beavers 8 at Moose Jaw Miller Express 6 (11 innings)
Over 400 fans turned out to watch the Weyburn Beavers defeat the Moose Jaw Express 8-6.
This entertaining affair went to extra innings. To add to the drama, each team scored two runs in the 10th innings before Weyburn ended it with a pair of runs in the top of the 11th.
Moose Jaw had a chance in the bottom of the 11th but failed to score with the bases loaded.
Ulysses Fluellen and Carlos Flores led the Weyburn attack with three hits each.
Eric Evans was the winning pitcher while Conner Starke picked up the save for the Beavers. Zach Fascia was on the hook for the Moose Jaw loss.
