RED SOX DROP FRIDAY’S HOMESTAND OPENER
The visiting Melville Millionaires dropped the Regina Red Sox 7-3 Friday night at Currie Field.
Melville scored 7 runs on 11 hits while Regina managed 3 runs on 6 hits. Both teams had 1 error.
Tyler Vavra lasted 4.1 innings in his first start of the season for the Red Sox. He gave up four hits and four runs while striking out five batters before giving way to Brandon Radmacher. Mike Thill and Louis Cohen also pitched in relief for the Red Sox.
At the plate, outfielder Jager Toffan had a hit and scored two runs for the Sox while Gabe Snyder, a freshman from Wright State, had a hit and two RBIs in a losing cause.
The loss was the fourth in a row for Regina and dropped their record to 12-14. Melville is now 9-18.
The home stand continues as Medicine Hat travels to Regina for games on Saturday and Sunday. Okotoks then drops in for games against the Red Sox on Monday and Tuesday.
