RED SOX DROP THEIR 8TH IN A ROW

The Regina Red Sox dropped a 4-3 decision to the Okotoks Dawgs Tuesday night. Okotoks scored four runs on 10 hits while Regina managed three runs on nine hits. Regina also committed the game’s lone error.

The loss extended the Red Sox winless skid to eight games.

Regina sent Adams State University senior Andrew MacMahon to the mound Tuesday night to face the Dawgs. Although the San Diego native was tagged with the loss, MacMahon had a decent outing striking out five batters while allowing three hits and two runs over four innings.

Tyler Vavra, Kendal Daniels, Mike Thill and Louis Cohen also pitched in short relief for the Red Sox.

At the plate Jordan Schulz had two hits and drove in two Red Sox runs giving him a team high 18 RBIs on the season. Shortstop Gabriel Montero also had a good night with the bat as he went three for five.

Regina, 12-17, will look to get back on the winning track Thursday night at Currie Field when they host the Yorkton Cardinals.  Following Thursday’s contest, the Red Sox will head out on the road for three games before returning home to meet Moose Jaw on Tuesday, July 14.
