RED SOX HANG ON FOR 9-7 WIN OVER BULLS

Friday’s game at Spitz Stadium in Lethbridge featured the battle of division leaders, and it lived up to its billing.

The visiting Regina Red Sox, playing the second game of their four game Alberta swing, jumped out to a 9-0 lead after five innings.

Lethbridge, the only undefeated team in the WMBL heading into Friday night’s games, responded with seven runs in the seventh inning. The Bulls used a a home run by Blake McDonald and a grand slam by Dylan Borman to close the gap.

Jordan Scott started for the Red Sox. The native of Lithonia, GA left the game with the lead after pitching 6.1 innings giving up nine hits, six runs while striking out nine.

Seth Sorenson and Kal Daniels held the Bulls batters at bay before closer Kevin Borst slammed the door shut in the ninth for his second save.

Jesson-Dalton Tanner was tagged with the loss for the Bulls.

All nine Red Sox hitters reached base during the game. Phil Langlois led the Regina 14 hit offensive charge with two runs and three hits including a double.

With the win Regina moved to 6-2, Lethbridge is now 6-1.

The Red Sox and Bulls will do it all again on Saturday at Spitz Stadium. Game time 7:05 pm.
