RED SOX OFF TO WMBL FINAL!

WEYBURN – The Regina Red Sox are headed to the WMBL Championship series after beating Weyburn 7-6 in game 5 of the Eastern Division final. Regina took the series 3-2.
Adam De La Cuz was the star of the show as he went four for five with a home run and three RBI. De La Cruz then took the mound in the bottom of the ninth inning and got the final three outs to secure save and the Sox victory.
Regina also got key home runs from Matt Deneau, his fourth of the post season and Brooks Stotler. Corey Wheaton had two hits, two RBI and a stolen base in the Beavers loss.
Anthony Race came on in relief of Red Sox starter Evan Rogers in the fourth inning and picked up the win.
Chandler Casey, the Weyburn starter, went six innings and took the loss. Dalton Ross and Eric Evans can out of the bullpen in relief and held the Red Sox bats in check pitching 3 scoreless innings.
The Red Sox will face the Medicine Hat Mavericks in the League final. Game 1 is Sunday in Medicine Hat
