RED SOX RUN WIN STREAK TO 9
The Regina Red Sox extended their winning streak to nine games with a convincing 12-1 win over the Moose Jaw Miller Express. Regina, now 15 -6, sit in second place in the Eastern Division.
The Red Sox scored six runs in the first inning and then turned the game over to starter Evan Rogers, who was last week’s WMBL Pitcher of the Week. The senior from Texas A&M at Texarcana did not disappoint as he tossed eight innings allowing just one run on six hits and two walks. Rogers also struck out seven Moose Jaw batters.
Adam Cook’s home run in the second inning was the first run charged to Rogers in the last four games.
Markus Gregson, the Surrey, BC product, started for Moose Jaw but left the game after he gave up seven runs in 1.1 innings.
Colton Onstott had a good night at the plate for Regina as he was three for five with a home run and a walk. Onstott also scored three runs and had two RBI.
Offensively for the Moose Jaw, Geordie McDougall had two hits.
The return match between these two teams is Friday night as the Miller Express travel to Currie Field. First pitch is set for 7:05 pm. Fans can purchase their tickets online at reginaredsox.com.
