RED SOX SWEEP DAWGS

In the final game of their six game road trip, the Regina Red Sox defeated the Okotoks Dawgs 6-2.  During their Alberta road swing, Regina went 5-1 and outscored their opponents 48-25.

Regina starter Ben Schweinfurth was outstanding on the mound.  He pitched a complete game allowing just two earned runs on six hits and a walk.  Schweinfurth struck out five Dawg batters on the way to his third victory of the season.

Dawgs reliver Brendan Kawaja was tagged with the loss as he gave up two runs after pitching just a third of an inning.

Second baseman Gabriel Montero led the Red Sox offensive charge going two for four with a walk and two runs scored.

Over 3,400 fans at Seaman Stadium watched the Red Sox improve their season record to 16-9. The Dawgs fell to 17-10.

Regina returns to Currie Field for a two game home stand on Tuesday and Wednesday.
