RED SOX SWEEP EDMONTON
425 fans were entertained at Currie Field as the Regina Red Sox defeated Edmonton 5-4. The win gave the Red Sox a two-game sweep of the visiting Prospects.
Regina starter Jake Waters threw a complete game seven-hitter in the Regina victory. He also had 11 strikeouts.
Jordan Schulz, who was three for five with an RBI, came through in the clutch when he doubled home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning. His RBI double helped to improve Record to an impressive 12-5.
Michael Gahan had a busy night for the Edmonton Prospects. He began the game as the Edmonton starter pitching five complete innings giving up four runs and nine hits before moving to 3B. The Australian born Gahan was also two for four at the plate and he added two RBI.
Andrew Grieder took the loss as he gave up the hit that scored Regina’s winning run. Edmonton is now 9-7.
Regina returns to the diamond on Saturday as they host Melville. Game time at Currie Field is 7pm.
