RED SOX TOP BOMBERS 8-6
With their their two-game sweep of the Brook Bombers the Regina Red Sox now sit two games over .500 with an 8-6 record. 460 fans at Currie Field watched as the Red Sox banged out 11 hits in tonight’s 8-6 win over the visiting Bombers.
Edgar Cuevas started for Regina and pitched three innings before manager Mitch MacDonald went to his bullpen. The Red Sox used six relievers during the game with Anthony Race getting the win and Adam De La Cruz the save.
Bomber starter Tyler Whalen had a rough outing lasting just 3.2 innings while giving up six runs. It was Whalen’s second loss of the 2018 season.
Zach Lehman was the Bombers offensive star going two for five with three runs scored. In addition to picking up the save, De La Cruz also had three hits, a walk and two RBI. Canadian Phil Langlois contributed three hits for the Red Sox.
Regina now heads to Yorkton for a date with the Cardinals on Thursday night.
