RED SOX’ WILSON TOSSES SHUTOUT

Regina pitcher Kyle Wilson tossed a complete game shutout as the Red Sox beat Swift Current 9-0 at Currie Field. Wilson, a junior from Arkansas Tech, allowed just one hit and two walks in his near perfect performance. He also struck out seven of the 30 Swift Current batters he faced. With the win Wilson improved his 2018 record to 3-1 with a 1.87 ERA.

Jack Ferguson started for Swift Current and had a rough outing. The left-hander from Madonna University was tagged for seven earned runs on 10 hits and two walks in just 3.2 innings of work.

Offensively, Red Sox third baseman Erik Crossman had three hits and a RBI in the win. Outfielder Riley Hickerson also contributed two hits, 2RBI and a run scored for the home squad.

Blake Adams got the lone Swift Current hit, which came in the first inning. He also stole a base to run his season total to seven.

Regina is firmly nestled in second place in the Eastern Conference with a 18-7 record while Swift Current is in 4th with a 14-14 record.
