REDBLACKS SIGN SHAWN LEMON
OTTAWA-GATINEAU – The Ottawa REDBLACKS of the Canadian Football League made another key acquisition today with the addition of international defensive end Shawn Lemon.
The highly-sought veteran of three CFL seasons arrives in Ottawa after recent appearances with the Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League.
Lemon had an outstanding season with the Grey Cup-champion Calgary Stampeders in 2014, starting 18 games and totalling 13 sacks, 31 tackles, five tackles for losses and five forced fumbles.
In another roster transaction today, the REDBLACKS transferred international defensive lineman Aston Whiteside to the six-game disabled list.
The REDBLACKS return to the practice field this week following a bye and will be back to game action on Sunday, September 13 against the BC Lions in Vancouver.
After another road game in Regina against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on September 19, the REDBLACKS will be back at TD Place for the next home game on Saturday, September 26 against East Division-rival Toronto Argonauts.
need Ian Wild at the MLB spot
Could it be the last appearance by Henry Burris before Rider Nation in a couple of weeks?
No, Simlin Hank another 6 years good to go. Rider Nation ? Correction ; Riderville.
What is this correction b.s. – Riderville is the name of the team's website and its venue at the Grey Cup festival. The Rider Nation is its loyal fan base of provincial, national and international scope. Better read up on your CFL history my friend.
I am sure the folks in Redblack City would not agree with hot and cold Hank as their geriatric leader for much longer. Time for him to hang up the cleats at the end of 2015. Time for a new young QB to step up to the plate.
that QB should be durant hes 33 and snapping tendons like cheap guitar strings
Wannabe's Saskatchewan Roughriders and it's football fanbase forever and a day "Riderville", always has been, always will be. End of story.
