We came out of this better than a lot of other scenarios would have left us. Taman owes us nothing we just won a grey cup and until we show up and get destroyed because of poor DT play everyone can shut up and relax.

I hope there are some good D-line prospects in the 2014 CFL college draft!

It is amazing how quickly Evans, Lee and Shologan were deleted from the player roster on the Rider website today.

We don't need to replace Shologan or Zack Evans with a Canadian draft pick. We can just start an American there now.

Probably the non imports protected looked something like this:
Rd1 – Labatte, Best, Heenan, Picard, Getz and Foley
Rd2 – Bagg, Newman, Hurl, Watman, Butler, Steinhauer

I'm glad we are solid on the o-line still. All 7 o-lineman from Grey Cup game are still here.

I am very sorry to lose Shologan and Evans. Hope we have the replacements.

I'd say the Riders did alright surviving this draft. Yes losing Shologan is tough but other than him I think we got out relatively unscathed. All the rest of our starters are still here and if we get them locked up with new contracts we are going to be a force next year again. Glad that Sanders is sticking around, him and Garrett can be the new two-headed monster in the backfield.

I'm thinking they really like Mclveen and Tay George starting in the middle of the D-line and decided they can get away with not having a non-import start at D-tackle. It really was a toss up between Foley and Sholo. Mclveen at times was the best defensive player on the field so not necessarily surprised with how it went. It could have been a hell of a lot worse.

Agreed with McIlveen/George comment. We started 9 canucks at times last year, we only need to start 7….we'll survive this.

If we protected Rob Bagg over Shologan or evans then that is just plain wrong….no way they were going to take Rob and his three knee operations. Bagg is now a key to our ratio so he better say healthy. We can rotate Foley, Chick, George and Taylor and be OK – McElveen would be good in the rotation but we need to sign him first. And it only puts more importance on inking our other free agents with Butler at the top of the list. We will survive – we always do. Just sad to see a good talented… Read more »

Woz: What makes you think Evans wants to play in front of family? He would not be the first to want to away. I think you are presuming a lot there.
Lets see what your boy has up his sleeve to fix not protection Shologan/Evans

Woz, I am sure that Rob Bagg wasn't protected in either round. Maybe 2nd round. Honestly, once Shologan was picked, the Rider brass was probably hoping that Ottawa would then take Evans.
You're way off on some of you're opinions bud.

Why does Taman have to "fix not protecting Shologan/Evans" ?
He can use George, McElveen, Richard Sumlin and Chick can play inside if need be.
This is no big deal!!

I trust "my boy". The key to any team is oline and to get through this without losing ant of the five starters watman and clarke is awesome. One sholo was gone we had no back up canadian at the position so at that point may as well lose evans too. It is now obvious to me that after suffering a couple of years without good ends that bt was more concerned about losing foley than sholo. After the way he rebuilt this team in two years and the magical season we just had i am willing to give bt… Read more »

I guess having a devout Christian in the locker room was probably disruptive. Oh well he's Ottawa's problem now.
