REGIMBALD SIGNS IN MONTREAL

Montreal, February 12, 2016 – The Montreal Alouettes announced on Friday that the club has signed national linebacker Kevin Régimbald to a one-year-deal.

Régimbald (6’1″, 225 lbs.), a former member of the Sherbrooke University Vert et Or, played three seasons in the CFL, all with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He helped the team win the Grey Cup in his rookie season in 2013. In 22-career-games, he made 18 special teams tackles. Last season, the Rouyn-Noranda, QC native also saw some action on defence, where he cumulated seven tackles in eight games.

“It’s great to have Kevin join the forces and to bring him home. We welcome his special teams value and his will to compete,” declared Alouettes General Manager and Head Coach, Jim Popp.

The 28-year-old was drafted in the fifth round (35th total) by the Roughriders in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft. In 2011 with the Vert et Or, he amassed 47,5 tackles and three sacks. He was named a first-team All-Canadian during his senior season.
