PATS ACQUIRE OVERAGE FORWARD
Regina, Saskatchewan – The Regina Pats Hockey Club has acquired over-age forward Brian Williams from the Tri-City Americans.
Brian Williams (5’8”, 178lbs) has played nearly 300 games in his WHL career, all for the Americans. The over-ager scored a career high 36 goals in the 2013-14 season. This season, Williams has 20 points (7G, 13A) in 31 games. Hailing from Claremont, California, Williams was an eighth round pick, 173rd overall, by the Americans in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft. In 290 games, Williams has 177 points (88G, 89A) to go with 148 penalty minutes. He also brings to the Pats 29 games of playoff experience where he registered 13 points (5G, 8A).
“Brian is a good, exciting offensive player,” said Regina Pats Head Coach and GM John Paddock. “We look forward to him contributing to our team when he is ready to join the lineup.”
As a result of adding Williams, the Regina Pats have released over-age forward Taylor Cooper. The Sherwood Park, AB native suited up for 54 games with the Pats, totaling 48 points (19G, 29A). Overall, Cooper played in 221 games through his WHL career with Brandon, Lethbridge and Regina while amassing 125 points (52G, 73A). The Pats thank Taylor Cooper for his contributions to the organization and community.
The Pats open a six game road trip in Cranbrook against the Kootenay Ice on Friday. Tune in to Bennett Dunlop Ford Pats Hockey on 620 CKRM starting at 7:35 p.m. CST for the 8 p.m. puck drop.
So who did they give up in the trade for Williams
Great question.
Nothing. Tri-City had 4 20's on their team when Mac Stewart was acquired. Williams has likely been sitting at home waiting for something since the start of the Christmas break. Small guy but looks likely he has more upside than Cooper.

You don't just give away 20-year olds in this league.
Sounds like he's been hurt too.
FG
Paddock sent the Tri-City owner a pair of Rider season tickets and a signed John Chick Jersey!
That's for damn sure
Rod knows, he thinks Curtis Hunt is a smart hockey person and a good coach.
Raiders are two points out of first place with NO TRADES.
Regina is to smart for Curtis Hunt.
You're a bitter guy.
Before the trade deadline, the Pats will acquire Tom Brokaw and Peter Jennings as well.
What did they give up anyhow?
