REGINA THUNDER TO HOST SAINT JOHN’S JOHNNIES
The Regina Thunder Football Club is pleased to play host to the Saint John’s Johnnies – the all-time winningest football program in NCAA Division III history – as they travel to Regina to take part in the CanAm Football Exchange presented by AGT Foods on Saturday May 7th at Leibel Field.
The event will include two competitive practices as well as a controlled scrimmage between the two teams to conclude the event. The players will collectively hit the field for the first practice session from 10 am until noon and then return for the second practice at 3 pm. The 4-down scrimmage will kickoff at approximately 4:20 pm. All football fans are invited to attend the event. Admission for the day is $5 per person (12 & over).
This will mark the second time the Johnnies have travelled to the city to take part in this event. The NCAA permits teams to take part in international trip such as this once every three years. The Johnnies first participated in the CanAm Football Exchange in 2013.
To officially kick-off the event the Regina Thunder are hosting a Coaches Night Wing Night Thursday evening at the Turvey Convention Centre Lounge from 6:30-10:30 pm with special guests taking part in a Q & A session over the course of the evening. The event is open to everyone. Tickets are $20 and available through Regina Thunder Alumni.
The Saint John’s Johnnies will make the 12 hour trip from Collegeville, Minnesota with 100 players set to take part. They will arrive in Regina on Friday evening and will attend a Tumblers Pizza Welcome Reception at the Regina Thunder Clubhouse.
