RIDER FANS RAISE 59,067 POUNDS FOR FOOD BANK

Purolator employees, Saskatchewan Roughriders fans and local food bank volunteers teamed up at the new Mosaic Stadium to raise the equivalent of 59,067 pounds of food for Regina Food Bank at Sunday’s home game versus BC.

That’s a 35% increase from last season.

Helping to tackle hunger with the assistance of Roughriders quarterback Kevin Glenn, Saskatchewan fans came out in droves to drop off non-perishable food items and cash donations in support of local communities.

Now in its 15th season, the Purolator Tackle Hunger program raises awareness, food and funds for local food banks across Canada. At one game in every Canadian Football League city, Purolator organizes a Game Day Food Drive to help alleviate hunger within local communities.

Last year, Purolator Tackle Hunger raised the equivalent of 1.65 million pounds of food. Since 2003, Regina football fans have helped raise 738,563 pounds of food for families in need.
