RIDER MOVES
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have announced the addition of international running back Stephen Houston to the practice roster.
Houston (5’11 – 225) joins the Green and White after spending three seasons at Indiana. The Arkansas native collected 2,304 yards on 424 carries through 36 collegiate games. His 25 career rushing touchdowns rank sixth on the Hoosiers all-time list. The 23-year-old also added 65 receptions for 658 yards and four touchdowns.
Houston went on to sign with the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent in May, 2014 where he attended training camp and played one preseason game. He was then picked up by the Pittsburgh Steelers where he saw action in two more preseason games.
· The Riders also announced recently signed defensive back Keith Lewis has been released from the practice roster. The team granted his release due to an NFL opportunity.
Wasn't he part of the Messam deal? Do they retain his rights? If not, then it becomes to look more and more like a crappy trade.

Jeremy O'Day just a continuation of the past manager with bad moves, he's just not ready. Nice hair dou. Bring back Mr.Roy Shivers at seasons end, he's a highly competent football man who can right the Roughriders team back to championship form. Maybe Jeremy can apprentice under Roy's tutilage with no specific title.
this deal made sense. Lewis is on the rights list, and if he doesnt make the NFL he's back with us. Besides, kinda short of RB's.Sounds like this new signing has some potential. Might as well get something on the Messam trade, as the previous regine wuld have let him go in Free Agencywithout getting anything.(Ie: Craig Butler, Sam Hurl, to name a few)
You do realize that Roy is 74 years old, was run out of this town and clearly jusr wants to scout a little to keep active. Get a grip
By the way the Riders should do the right thing by putting Roy into the Plaza while he is healthy. He will get in at some point for all his work in saving this franchise, bringing back a winning attitude, bringing in most of the 2007 to 2010 players, introducing sponsorships as a revenue source, setting a limit to ticket sales to make the Riders a hot ticket, etc. It would be a shame if he was put in after he passes away. He is no spring chicken anymore.
I vote for never putting Shivers in the Plaza.
