RIDERS ACQUIRE KING FROM ARGOS
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have acquired the rights to international offensive lineman Jarriel King from the Toronto Argonauts. In exchange, the Riders have sent international defensive lineman Andre Monroe to the Argonauts.
King (6’5 – 315) played three regular season games for the Argonauts last season. Through three seasons with the Argos, King has played 29 regular season games, with 26 starts, spending time at guard and tackle.
Wasn't Monroe a keeper? Hopefully King is .
Anon #1. Apparently not to the new sherrif. We need upgrades at all positions. Yeah, that's right. All positions.
Monroe was a one-game wonder. This is a good trade, congrats Jones.
Monroe a keeper under O'Day's watch, as were the recent announced cuts he signed to contracts just a month ago. There's a new sheriff in town… Jones… Chris Jones. No wonder…
Jones trades a good DL for what – oh yes a wannabe OL
Great trade Jones – not
I thought Monroe was one of the better d players last season??? Not unless Jones has some better ideas. The Rider o line wasnt necessarily stellar, and probably needed a few changes as well.
Jones trades for a guy who was charged for sexual assult !!!!!!
Great trade, yuch
Was found to be not guilty of the charges.
Hey yuck, the charges were dropped!
Don't worry, Jones knows who is going to play on the D-line already. Maybe a revamped O-line can keep DD upright. Keep doing your thing Chris.
Charged yes, but acquitted. Stick to the facts.
Chris Jones was with Toronto in 2013, so was King. Hmmmm.
It is written in Saskatoon Star Phoenix today that Ivan Gutfriend who has been the trainer for many , many years for the Riders is retiring and will not be back next year. This is a Regina Blog and not a thing has been said about Ivan . "WHY<WHY<WHY ???
Curtains for Xavier???
This blog was the first to report the news about Ivan on Tuesday.
Who cares about Ivan. Irrelevant to the public and the fans.
My crystal ball says that by 2017 there will be a second Jones in green and white – a fellow by the name of Brett.
It's a refreshing thing to see that there are not sacred cows any more. That mentality has always kept the Riders from reaching the potential they should have. Shades of the Miller era where he could never get over the hump leading to the Marshall mess.
A 6'5" O-lineman that can play is more valuable than a 5'10 D-lineman who really only stood out in one game. It appears that Jones wants to keep DD healthy this season.
Good for Ivan, 68 is time to retire, plaza of honour right away.
Website said this guy was charged with a nasty offence even tho acquitted still put himself in that situation to be charged should fit right in with rider nation their type of player so much for tho code of conduct another 3-15 season coming
Nice to see your mommy let you use the Internet this morning.
