RIDERS ADD THREE

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today that import defensive back Donnie Fletcher and import linebackers Adrian Moten and Xavier Adibi have signed with the team. As per club policy financial details of the contract were not released.

 

Fletcher (6’1 – 195) joins the Riders after spending parts of the last two seasons with the New York Jets. The Cleveland, Ohio native signed with the team as an undrafted free agent in April, 2012. He went on to play three regular season games as a rookie. The 23-year-old attended training camp with the Jets in 2013, playing three pre-season games.  

 

Before going pro, Fletcher spent four seasons at Boston College where he registered 178 defensive tackles, eleven interceptions, 3.5 tackles for loss, and one fumble recovery in 51 career collegiate games. 

 

Moten (6’2 – 230) signs with the Green and White after spending parts of the last three seasons in the National Football League. The Maryland product has played 13 career NFL games while splitting time with Indianapolis, Seattle, Philadelphia, Cleveland and Detroit from 2011 to 2013.

 

Through four seasons at Maryland the 26-year-old totaled 219 defensive tackles, 24 tackles for loss, 15.5 quarterback sacks, and six interceptions in 48 career collegiate games.      

 

Adibi (6’2 – 242) joins the Riders after spending five seasons in the NFL after originally being selected by the Houston Texans in the fourth round (118th overall) in the 2008 Draft. The Virginia Tech University product totaled 70 defensive tackles and two forced fumbles in 44 career regular season games.

 

Prior to that, the 29-year-old Oklahoma native played 47 career collegiate games for the Hokies, totaling 266 defensive tackles and eight interceptions with two returned for touchdowns.  He was named a 2007 First-Team AFCA All-American.
