RIDERS CONFIRM QUICK HIRING
Greg Quick arrives in Saskatchewan with a wealth of coaching experience spanning over 30 years in both the professional and collegiate levels. Most recently Quick was the linebackers coach for the Montreal Alouettes in 2014.
Quick joined the Northwood University Timberwolves as the team’s offensive coordinator for the 2012 season after spending the 2010 and 2011 seasons as linebackers coach with the Toronto Argonauts.
Quick’s coaching career dates back to 1979 when he was named the defensive coordinator at Emporia State. He then went on to Heidelberg College as offensive coordinator in 1985 before moving to New Mexico State where he was linebackers coach. His first head coaching experience at the collegiate level came at the University of Chicago in 1989, a position he held for five seasons. He was then the head coach at St. Norbert College from 1994 to1999 before eventually holding the same role at Concord University from 2003 to 2008.
Welcome to Saskatchewan, Coach !
Don M
now lets start resigning players
Welcome Coach. Excited for the season. Great signing, nothing against Coach Hall, it was just time for a new voice.
I see Chamblin has hired his new puppet… I mean new co-ordinator.
Last year this guy coached the best linebacking crew in the league. Was it him or them or both?
Anon #4: Go Away. He IS the HEAD coach after all. What part of that are you not seeing?
Anon #4 – Stamp fan for sure.
Anon 4.Would you rather have Marshall back? The guy is the head coach, you know the boss, he gets to pick and choose who works for him. If he makes the wrong choices it will cost him his job. I think the guy has proven he is a pretty good coach. You on the other hand, back to mommys basement and dont forget to do your chores before she gets home from work.
I sure hope Chamblin wins many more Cups as our HC. Then there will be no doubt as to his ranking among Rider coaches, it will be #1. Then jackasses like that will have no more ammunition. They'd probably rather see Grandpa Miller as the HC still then Chamblin even though he's responsible for the greatest triumph in Riders history.
Just heard his first interview, something about decapitating the enemy to make sure they don't get back up. Samari?
You gotter' I'm not the unaminous you were degrading but, YES I'd much rather see Grampa Miller on the sidelines than the 'soup nazi'
Anon #11: You Sir are an idiot. "soup nazi"? Really? An idiot and a racist perhaps. Do you have any knowledge of the term "nazi" and what it infers?
He's definitely a racist. Rod, that comment should be deleted.
The 'Soup Nazi' is a fictitious character on Seinfeld.
Hey folks…
Are you a football fan?
Monday evening don't miss out on what should be one heck of a game, the National Championship of College Football: Oregon vs Ohio State…
So in the past many on here said guys like berry or miller were raisins and old farts and the game had passed them by. Now we have a guy that is 59 and from bio never a dc…..so much for experience. Mark my words it was a big mistake getting rid of richie. I like chamblin and will give him benefit of doubt but sometimes wonder if his ego is getting too big….i would rather have an experienced richie than some yahoo from the football breeding grounds in heidelberg an st norbert….. Is that near sintaluta….used to be good… Read more »
Suck it Pedersen!!
Come on Woz! Richie, Smitchie. What matters is the talent assembled on the field. Finding an impact linebacker is a must. It is the one major deficiency in our defense in comparison to the other teams in the west. Solve that riddle, and our new DC will do fine. Love Coach Quick's attitude and mindset. I am excited about his desire to develop a tough and more aggressive attitude on our defense. His is a coach made to order for players like Chick, George, Foley and, of course, Brackenridge – a must sign on our list of free agents. Count… Read more »
At one time bill quinter and rueben berry said we would have a great agressive defence and exciting powerful offence but in the end their inexperience resulted in a lousy team. Give me experience anyday and there must be a reason why richie was not employed fir long. Lets see whos defence is more aggressive…..for the life of me i dont know what people want for aggressive was leading the league in sacks not enough? Richie is a master of using the tools he has….in years when we had bad lineman he blitzed more…..he innovated the use of tweener linebackers.… Read more »
Yeah suck it Pedersen! You're first place ranking in the ratings is just a fluke and your blog is only popular cause of Obama. And you only re-gained Riders radio rights case you share with Hopson a mutual love of George Strait! He's old hat!!
These 980 people really need to give it a rest already.
give what a rest ? being better in every way
