RIDERS THE LONE TEAM FINED IN WEEK 9

TORONTO (August 24, 2016) — The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced on Wednesday:

Saskatchewan Roughrider Caleb Holley was fined for a tourist hit on Hamilton Tiger-Cats defensive back Dominique Ellis.

As per league policy, the amount of the player fine was not disclosed.

What about the hit out of bounds by Hamilton? That's not fineable? Way to protect the players CFL!

A "Tourist Hit" by definition in the 2015 CFL Rule Book

Unnecessary physical contact, including but not limited to, running into, diving into, cut blocking or throwing the body on a player who is:

A) out of the play, or
B) should not have reasonably anticipated such contact by an opponent, before or after the ball is dead;
C) throwing a ball carrier to the ground after the ball is dead.
