RIDERS LOSE WEBSTER TO TORONTO

TORONTO – The Toronto Argonauts continued to add to their Canadian content Friday signing defensive back Matt Webster.

Webster, a 5-11, 195-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, spent the last three seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, who selected him in the fifth round (39th overall) in the 2014 CFL Draft. In 36 career CFL games, he has registered 32 defensive tackles and 21 special teams tackles. He saw his most productive CFL season come in 2015 when he registered 21 defensive tackles and nine special teams tackles in 17 games.

The Queen’s University product notched 82.5 tackles, four interceptions, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery with the Gaels.
