The MacDougal release is a bit of a shocker, but I guess the writing was on the Wall with the signing of Newman.

I will always remember Hardrick for his expressions of excitement and joy on the field when the Riders made a great play (few that there were), something rare to see from O-lineman, the more conservative part of the football brotherhood.

Does cutting MacDougall mean the Riders intend to make a push for Muamba?

Can't really see that, Riders have enough LBS.

Maybe let Edmonton use up what cap space they have now so they can't go after Grymes if he doesn't go to the NFL?

The reason they release people one week into free agency is because they have no idea who they will sign first. I see some people will always be negative on here.. go cheer for another team and if you do cheer for someone else go to their web site.

"Nice. Let's release guys one week into free agency."

So, what, Jones should've released them before free agency? Then, say, the replacements sign somewhere else, and he has to resign them? Or worse, they sign elsewhere and he has to sign worse players?

Keep on trollin', baby.

McDougall makes a good salary and from what i have heard may not be ready for training camp because of a shoulder injury.

Move on. Makes sense.

Love all the wannabe GMs on Rod's site. If Chris Jones and co. worried about offending everyone we'd be 3-15 again like Taman was because he truly was afraid of offending everyone.

I proclaim that I want my team to win. They will by not bowing to the whims of the negative nellies in Rider Nation!

With Greg Newman and Max Webster signed, Keon MacDougall became the one former Huskier to become redundant. Perhaps the Stamps will want to bring him back.

Was not Max Webster a rock n' roll band from the 70's?

Max Webster has signed, I hope they have Kim Mitchell back.

February 2016…. Jones added young defender by trading for sophomore defensive back Tevaughn Campbell from Calgary. Campbell dressed in five games in 2015, his rookie season, He was drafted in the third round, 22nd overall, by the Stampeders in the 2015 CFL Draft.
Therefore Keenan MacDougall became expendable in the eyes of Chris Jones. That is how pro football works.
So the ridiculous comments from Troller #4 is simply an uninformed football fan who should stop posting or an EE fan trying to cause problems
