The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released the following players:
· National running back Melvin Abankwah
· International linebacker Denicos Allen
· International wide receiver Michael Campbell
· International offensive lineman Quinterrius Eatmon
· International defensive lineman Ryan Jones
· International linebacker DeDe Lattimore
· International linebacker DJ Lynch
· International defensive back Robert Sands
· International offensive lineman Joseph Treadwell
· National defensive lineman Brandon Tennant
Im an avid Rider fan and Ive never heard of one of these guys.
obviously depth players that were released in order to make room for the new guys from the mini camp.
Tennant is the only guy that jumps off the page,young draft pick from last year.
Must have found some better guys.
I would suspect most of these guys will end up in Edmonton, being the hot mess that is going on there. They will go well with the Demarco signing.

It amazes me how releasing depth players give some people something to jump on about the Riders. If some of you hate the Riders so much why do you read this blog? Are you really that unhappy with your everyday life? Releasing these players is not big news and does not take away anything from the Pats and the awesome season they just had. For all you disgruntled people out there that think the sky is falling in go out and give someone a hug and a smile perhaps that will make you feel better.

Releasing 10 players from last year's squad that no one has ever heard of is far from stealing the Pats thunder. I doubt that any GM in any city is thinking about when to release information in conjunction with the City's junior hockey team. Man give your head a fricken shake! Also the Scmos fans on here posting hiring one day releasing the next again shows their ignorance to football as a whole and the Riders orginization. Riders are still 3-15 and still a pathetic franchise riders will be in the basement for many more years to come ,keeping up their tradition as the perrenial basement dwellers of the west.The Esks are Still Grey Cup Champs and WILL repeat again in 2016 and 2017 ,the Esks are a dynasty in the making .
The only dynasty you will see in Edmonton is repeats of the 80s TV series while you are still waiting for your EI cheques.
Reilly,White,Bell,Bowman,Walker,Coehoorn,Getzlaf,McCarty,Watson,Shavers,Batiste,Beard,Greaves,Groulx,Odonnell,Rottier,Sorensen,Krausnick,Watkins,Young,Howard,Willis,Lacey,Sewell,Konar,Ojo,Sherritt,Steele…That is at least double the talent you riders have so get bent.
Capicotti, Lemon, Gainey, Foster, Brooks, Lawrence, Newman, Walter, Jones(the LB), Chiles, Steele, Jones (OL), Chambers, King, Hazime, Irvin, and Campbell(OL). All established CFL veterans with a nice mix of Allstars and Grey Cup champions.
Add them with Labatte, Knox Jr., Roosevelt, Bagg, Demski, George and some production from the rookie Free Agent haul and you have the making of the Green and White machine that is going to kick the Moes all around the park in 2016 and into the future:-)
Oh, and don't forget our coaching staff and management personnel. Yet another reason why we won't be hearing much noise from the basement suites of Edmonton very soon.

The 4-14 EE in 2013 is just a short time ago.
It will be easy to watch them fall once again.
Especially with Reilly that hasnt played more than half a season
since the EE aquired him from BC. In fact just about all of the EE players have been aquired from other teams. Their so desperate they signed washed up Getzlaf this season. Hell Getzlaf has been on the injury list the last 3 years and was washed up 2 years ago
