RIDERS SIGN ANDREW JONES
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced national free agent offensive lineman Andrew Jones has signed with the team. As per club policy, details of the contract were not released.
Jones (6’4 – 299) will be entering his eighth season after originally being selected by the BC Lions in the 4thround (32nd overall) of the 2007 CFL Draft. The 33-year-old played three seasons with BC before joining the Toronto Argonauts as a free agent in 2012. The Toronto native spent the last two seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. He has played 80 career regular season games and eight playoff games.
He is a three-time Grey Cup champion having won with BC in 2011, Toronto in 2012 and Edmonton in 2015.
33 years old
His best years are behind him
Will he even be good enough to make the team
Good addition, he has a couple of good years left in him. Gives depth and experience on the O-line.
Another career backup
Great signing, injuries always happen on O-line
This guy has THREE Grey Cup rings!
Great interview with Jones on the Cage today. Sounds like a great utility player who will bring depth and experience to the locker room.
