RIDERS SIGN CAPICCIOTTI

The Roughriders have confirmed the signing of free agent non-import defensive lineman Justin Capicciotti.  Roughriders Head Coach & GM Chris Jones told reporters on Wednesday that the veteran Canadian has agreed to terms and the contract was being registered with the league.
Capicciotti was identified as one of the Top 30 CFL free agents by CFL.ca after registering double-digit sack totals the past two seasons with the RedBlacks.
The Riders are expected to announce the signing Thursday morning.

Come November, the 2016 standings should end up looking like this:

1st place – Riders
2nd place – Bombers
3rd place – Stamps
4th place – Eskimos
5th place – Lions

Capicciotti and Newman are the only 2 decent signings

The rest can be cut right now as they are just a waste of time and money.

Stop drinking the green koolaid and see what is really happening.

What??? Greg Jones isnt as good at his LB position as a rotational, special teams player like Newman. Open your eyes man. Greg Jones is an awesome LB and was Toronto's best LB by far.
You should get off the home Province boy kick and look at whats in front of you.
Plus Chiles with his 4.2 speed will be an awesome receiver

Good signings. However 3 and 15 means that signings and recruitment has to be much better than everybody just to keep up. The riders still are outta the playoffs 1st Winnipeg 2nd Calgary 3rd Edmonton 4th Riders 5th BC. Edmonton does not make playoffs. Hamilton catches them in crossover.
Do not confuse rebuild with reload. Rebuild Saskatchwan. Reload Calgary.

I hope Old Hank is right in his prediction as there would be no better way for Mosaic Stadium and Taylor Field to end its existence than with a home play-off game.

Good chance that Chad Owens is headed to the Bombers. Should be one heck of a speedy receiving attack with Dressler, Smith and Owens.

The signing of a Canadian defensive end is good news for Dylan Ainsworth. The Riders now have flexibility to go with two Canadian interior d-lineman.

In December when the Riders released their 19 'all-stars', a huge hue-and-cry erupted among the Chicken Littles.

Hmmm, I wonder why there's no frenzy with other teams signing them??

Some unreal signings today. Now we see why the Riders cut Chick and Dressler. Got some less expensive players under 30.I think Mr. Jones and the boys know what they are doing. Still have to play the game though.

Capicciotti was a fabulous "GET". A young all-star Canadian D-lineman within budget. He anchored Ottawa's defence last season and is a horse. Great signing and likely more to come. While other teams are trying to build with no QB and a couple tiny receivers, It's clear the Jones wants a quality defence and man is he ever putting together a good one. This wan't a good day it was great day. The few trolls on this site will never be happy with anything. They along with their buddy at the LP can pound sand. These guys know how to build a… Read more »

Guaranteed the Riders aren't going 3-15 this season

I really have mixed feelings about this guy (Jones). Is this a fix for long term, or is this just to clean up the act and have a shiny new team going into next year and the new stadium? I am not so sure this team needed the gutting that it has received so far. You could say "oh yeah, of course most gotta go, after all we were 3-15. But what would their record be if Durant didn't get hurt? 8-8? 9-7? Now are we even talking coaches getting fired, far less GM's getting let go? Less than two… Read more »

PLAIN AND SIMPLE! : Chris Jones and Co will get this Riders team to where it needs to be and that's at the top of the CFL! NO, It's not going to happen overnight and Saskatchewan isn't going to all of a sudden dominate the league, but with the personel running this franchise now, Everyone will friggin get it through their thick heads that the Saskatchewan Roughriders are going to be Dangerously good and that this won't be your daddy's loser teams of the 80's! Chris Jones is a winner and he means business and all other franchises and their… Read more »
